a village that preserves centuries of history
A city perched on the edge of a volcanic crater on Lake Bolsena, it has always been a land of vines and wine. Known throughout Europe for its lakeside vineyards and the appellation Est! Est!! Est!!!. Here, everything speaks of a region that has made wine its profound identity.
The land and the lake
Montefiascone, where the character of our wine is born.
Our vineyards are located in the Montefiascone area, on volcanic soils of the Vulsino complex. Here, tuff, ash, and pyroclastic material form a mineral, well-draining substrate that pushes the roots deep and controls the plant's vigor, promoting concentrated, distinctive production.
The altitude, between 400 and 500 meters, and the proximity to Lake Bolsena create a balanced microclimate, with temperature variations that facilitate slow ripening and preserve freshness and aromatic definition. The predominantly south/southwest exposure ensures optimal light during the best hours of the day.
Native Roots, Contemporary Vision
We work primarily with Italian and native grape varieties, a direct expression of this terroir. We are also introducing non-native varieties, selected for their potential to adapt to this climate and soils.
stone and memory
Our headquarters is located in a historic building, next to one of the ancient entrances to the village of Montefiascone: a place steeped in centuries of history, that of a town perched on the edge of the volcanic crater of Lake Bolsena. We chose a conservative, understated restoration that enhanced the building's authenticity without altering its character.
